WALTER KEENAS Suddenly but peacefully, on Wednesday, February 20, 2008, Walter, aged 80 years, passed away at Pembina Place. Walter is survived by his wife Ruth, son Russ (Sharlene), granddaughter Carly, daughter-in-law Leona and grandson Dylan. Walter was predeceased by his sons, Kimberly in 2001 and David in 2005, his parents, brother and sister. Walter was born in Manitou on April 8, 1927, and grew up in Morden before making Winnipeg his home since 1950 when he and Ruth were married. Big Wally was employed at M.T.S. for 34 years, retiring in 1983. He enjoyed fishing, curling, golf and bowling. He was especially proud of accomplishing a hole in one in golf and a perfect game in five pin bowling! Walter loved sharing a good meal with his family followed up with a competitive game of cribbage. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, February 25, Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. Interment will take place in the family plot at Glen Lawn Memorial Gardens. The family would like to thank Deer Lodge Centre and Pembina Place, Walter's home away from home for the last two years. Flowers are gratefully declined.
