TENA SHYSTOKOWSKI (nee MELNYCHUK) Peacefully, on Friday February 22, 2008 at the Grace Hospital Tena passed away at the age of 95. Predeceased by her husband George in 1979, her parents Michael and Pearl Melnychuk; sisters, Ann (Art) Lush, Helen (Ivan) Mokriy, brothers, Alec, David (Cecile). Tena leaves to cherish her memory, her children; daughter Georgina Caron; son Gordon (Sheila) Shawn; grandchildren, Brad, Michael, Grant and Jody; great-granddaughter Kaydence; sister-in-law Stella Nelson, nieces Sharon, Beverly, Lise, Bonnie Lynn and nephews Delwyn, and Dean, Mom was born in Silver, Manitoba and worked for Peerless Garments in Winnipeg retiring from there. Mom's passion was her family and she enjoyed cooking perogies, chicken noodle soup and the best lemon pie ever, for them. Memorial service will be held on Wednesday, February 27, 2008 at 3:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home 4000 Portage Avenue. Service will be presented by Gina Hoe Cremation has taken place. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Charleswood Care Centre, Melanie, Laurie, Tara-Dawn, Kathleen, Lindsay, Juanita , Debbie and the staff of Wing 6 for their loving care and support over the last two years and the Grace Hospital 3rd Floor Dr. Josuha, Dr. Martens, nurses Giana and Jackie. Very special thank you for the best care from Janice Youmans who was mom's careworker at home for years, we could not have managed without her.
