IAN MCKENZIE It is with deep sadness that we announce the sudden passing of (Edward) Ian McKenzie, loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather brother, and uncle, on Sunday, February 24, 2008. Ian is survived and will be sadly missed by his loving wife Kitty of 56 years; his six children, Kathy, David (Lori) McKenzie, Cheryl (Jim) Moore, Mike (Barb) McKenzie, Debbie (Darrell) Fey, and Cindy (Richard) McKenzie; grandchildren, Kelly, Rob, Karen (Chris), Kendyl, Kelsey, Jackie, Janelle, Amanda (Steve), Ian, Jared, Kurt (Sarah), Sabrina, and Melissa; great-grandchildren, Jessy, Elizabeth, Mathew and Isabelle; his sister Jean (Gordon) Still; brother-in-law Tom (Elsie) Linning and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Ian was in the Air Force for 15 years where he met and married mom. After he left the Air Force he had many careers including Airplane Mechanic, Sheet Metal Worker, Abex and he retired from Gerdau Rolling Mills in 1996. Ian was a strong man, a proud man and even though he suffered with his arthritis he never stopped educating himself by reading a book where he could still learn about new things. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion No. 42 where he and Mom spent many a fun afternoon at the Over Sixty Club. Cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service will be held at Gilbart's Funeral Home on Thursday, February 28, 2008, at 1:00 p.m. Reverend Stephen Sharman will be officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Selkirk General Hospital, Palliative Care, Box 5000-100 Easton Drive, Selkirk, MB R1A 2M2. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk, in care of arrangements.
