ANASTASIA SOKULSKI On Tuesday, February 25, 2008, Anastasia Sokulski peacefully passed away just short of her 90th birthday in the Convalescent Home of Winnipeg. She was born in Poplarfield, Manitoba, the youngest of six children. She was predeceased by her parents, Michael and Justyna; siblings, Anne, Mary, Paul, Peter and Pearl; nieces and nephews Bill and Joe, Rabski, Joe and Betty Werbeniuk, Michael Sokulski and Donna Kowal. She is survived by her many nieces and nephews and their children. Auntie Anna went to high school in Winnipeg, worked at the Hudson's Bay Company, entered nurses training at the Winnipeg General Hospital and graduated in 1951. She worked until the age of 72 years at various nursing positions. She loved the outdoors, her cottage at Grand Marais, traveling, music, ballet, playing cards, walking, going for drives and her extended family. Funeral service will take place on Saturday, March 1, 2008 at 1:30 p.m. at Thomson In the Park Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Blvd. with Father Sam Argenziano officiating. Interment will follow in Thomson in the Park Cemetery following the service. In lieu of flowers, donation may be made in Anna's memory to the St. Boniface Hospital Foundation.
