SIGRIDUR HARALDINA ARORA FIRTH (nee ELIASSON) In the early morning of February 27, 2008, Mom passed as quietly and peacefully from this world as she lived. Mom was born on October 3, 1923 in Riverton, Manitoba, the eighth of 10 brothers and sisters, to proud Icelandic Canadian parents. Over the ensuing years, the family followed the Icelandic Trail moving to Gimli, then Selkirk, and finally to Winnipeg. There she met her husband Edward, the love of her life, with whom she spent 49 years of married life until his death in 1995. She is survived by her sons Gary, his wife Valerie and grandson Jordan and his wife Heather, and Glen, his wife Patti and grandson Devin. She is also survived by her sister Elinborg of Aldergrove, BC, sister-in-law Mabel Mcknight of Vancouver, BC, sister-in-law Gladys Firth of Victoria, BC, and many nieces and nephews. In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family interment will follow at a later date. Special thanks to Pat Yamada and her staff of 4C at the Riverview Health Centre who brought much comfort and joy to Mom in her sunset years.
