PELAGJA JUNE TRUSEWYCH We are sad to announce the passing of our beloved Mother and Baba on February, 25, 2008, at Holy Family Nursing Home with her family by her side. Left to celebrate her life are her children: Nicholas (Marlene), and Roma (Frank); grandchildren: Thomas and Reid; extended family: Blair, Cory (Kelly) and Caitlin; and Cooper, her special canine friend. She was predeceased by her husband, Andrew. June was born in Nemyriw, Ukraine, on May 24, 1917. In 1944, the family left Ukraine, spent four years in Germany, and then immigrated to Canada in 1948. June's life revolved around her children and later her grandchildren, who were her pride and joy. Nothing made her happier than to cook or bake for everyone she loved. June also had a passion for travelling and often recalled her trips with joy. In the face of many hardships, June was a strong, optimistic woman who was thankful for all her blessings. She also possessed an incredible sense of humour and her laughter was contagious. June spent the last four and one-half years at Holy Family Nursing Home. The family extends sincere thanks to Dr. Terry Babick and to all the wonderful caregivers at Holy Family who were always kind, caring and compassionate. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 15, 2008, at 1:00 p.m. at St. Nicholas Church, 737 Bannerman Ave. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Manitoba Heart and Stroke Foundation.
