NELLIE WALCZAK September 9, 1921 February 23, 2008 It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Nellie Walczak. Nellie was predeceased by her husband Joe and son Gordie. Nellie's memory will live on in the hearts of her daughter Joey, grandson Bryan, granddaughter Courtney and husband Jim and great-grandson Carter. She also leaves behind her sister Sophie and brother Paul, several nieces, nephews and many friends. Born in Winnipeg, Nellie lived the majority of her life here. She moved to Calgary after her husband's passing to be with her daughter and grandchildren, the joys of her life. She was a caring wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Nellie devoted her life to her family, and enjoyed knitting, sewing and quilting, and won many trophies bowling. She never wanted anything for herself and always gave to others. According to Nellie's wishes, cremation has taken place. A Service of Remembrance will be held on Monday, March 3, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Nellie's memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
