RICHARD JAMES BELL February 9, 1932 February 26, 2008 Peacefully on Tuesday, February 26, 2008 Jim passed away at St. Boniface General Hospital with his daughter Ruth by his side. He leaves to mourn, his devoted daughter Ruth (husband, Ian) of Yellowknife, daughter Karen of Edmonton, brother Morton (wife Andrea) of Germany and daughter-in-law Gwen of England. He also leaves to mourn, grandchildren Scott (fiancée, Melissa) of Winnipeg, Kris and Alison of England, Cindy Lee and her daughter Kailey of Yellowknife, Kevan of Edmonton and Amy of Ontario. Jim was predeceased by his parents and his son Clifford James. Jim worked at the University of Manitoba as an Entomology Research Technician with Agriculture Canada before his retirement. He had a thirst for scientific knowledge and reading was his passion. As a physically active man, he was a familiar face at the swimming pools until his disease, multiple myeloma weakened him. The family wishes to thank the doctors and nursing staff at St. Boniface General Hospital B4, for the compassionate care and support. Cremation has taken place and no service will be held. The family will have a private graveside service at a later date at Elmwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jim's memory to CancerCare Manitoba.
