Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryROSE BRASS May 18, 1921 February 15, 2008 Peacefully, on February 15, 2008 in White Rock, BC, our precious mother and grandmother, Rose Brass (nee Asbell) passed on at the age of 86. On February 19, at the Rosh Pina Memorial Park in Winnipeg, Rose was laid to rest beside her beloved husband Abe Brass. The deep loss created by her death has penetrated the hearts of her children Joel Brass and Diane Schachter, of White Rock, BC, their spouses Marim and Yale, grandchildren Kevin, Leeya, Adam and Simon, and numerous relatives and friends. Rose was born in Viceroy, Saskatchewan, and ultimately moved to Winnipeg where she met and married her best friend and husband Abe to whom she was married for over 50 years until his death in 1996. Rose remained in Winnipeg until 2003, when she joined both of her children and their families who had decided to move to the White Rock area. Rose's loves were walking, nature, music, bridge, people and above all family. She will be remembered for her warm smile and friendliness, her thoughtfulness, humility, and unpretentiousness. She touched many people in her life, and had an innate ability to listen to and help people of all ages. Rose showed deep compassion for everyone, be it a stranger on the street, friend or family member. Her only wish was that everyone be happy and healthy. Even during the last nine months of deteriorating health, Rose's kind and gentle spirit thrived, and was not left unnoticed by both the residents and staff at the Hogg Pavilion, who so often remarked that she was such a sweetie. And that she was. Her selflessness, gratitude, and deep, unconditional love remain an inspiration to all who knew her. Funeral services were held on Tuesday, February 19, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at the Chesed Shel Emes, 1023 Main St., followed by interment at the Rosh Pina Cemetery. Donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada, or a charity of your choice. Oh this is the beauty of the rose - that it blooms and goes Willa Cather
