LAURA ALTA BEATRICE HALLETT (JORDAN) Peacefully with her daughter by her side Laura Alta Beatrice Hallett passed away on February 28, 2008. She was predeceased by her husband Bill. Survived by son Bill and grandchildren Melissa (Joel Ott), Melanie (Craig Bauer); daughter Brenda (Sam Pasta) grandchildren Sam (Pat) Laura (Bob Douglas); sister-in-law Blue Chapman and nine great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews, and dear friends Fatima and Stella. Laura was born and raised in Fort Macleod, AB, where she met and married Bill. They moved to Winnipeg in 1945 and settled in St. James. She worked at F.W. Woolworths for 25 years and enjoyed helping people. Her biggest joys were family gatherings and bingo. She had a great sense of humor and all that met her loved her. She will be deeply missed but not forgotten. We would like to thank the staff on the Willow unit at Fred Douglas Lodge for their wonderful care and support. A memorial service will be held Wednesday, March 5 at 2:00 p.m. in Thomson In the Park Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Blvd. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a charity of your choice.
