Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryGWENDOLINE RAE MCRAE Peacefully, on March 2, 2008 Gwendoline Rae McRae (Gwen) passed away at the Selkirk General Hospital. She will be deeply missed by her many nieces, nephews and friends. She was predeceased by her parents, Allan and Jessie McRae, sisters Alice Cooke, Josephine Finnson, Mary Beaton, Vera Simpson and brothers Borden, Burnett, Ross, Odell and Edmund McRae. Gwen was born October 18, 1925 at Clandeboye, MB and had lived in Selkirk most of her life. Gwen's career as a nurse began when she graduated from the Selkirk Mental Health Centre as a psychiatric nurse in 1946. She then went back to the School of Nursing in Toronto where she graduated as a Registered Nurse in 1969. After her graduation she returned back to work at SMHC until she retired in 1986. Gwen led an active life and enjoyed playing golf and tennis. She always enjoyed a good match of tennis especially with her nephew Ross. Gwen enjoyed a wonderful life thanks to all the family members, nieces, nephews and friends dear to her. She took great joy in watching generations of her nieces and nephews grow. Many thanks to Dr. Demsas and the staff at the Selkirk General Hospital for the pleasant care they gave to her. In accordance to her wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family graveside service will be held at a later date. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk in care of arrangements.
