CYRIL CECHVALA It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Cyril Cechvala on March 1, 2008, at the Concordia Hospital at the age of 87 years. Cyril was predeceased by his wife Mary and second wife Milly, parents Michael and Elizabeth Cechvala, brother Joe and son-in-law Ross Stone. Cyril will be sadly missed by his children Frances Stone, Paul Cechvala, and Joyce Myers (Walter); grandchildren Rebecca (Todd), Nada (Claude), Donna (Wayne), Barbara, David (Tanya), Paul, Carla (Jeremy), Chris (Diane), and Scott; 12 great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters Anna Cagala, Ethel Petriew, John (Emily), Frank (Diane), Mary Mojelsky, and Alphonse (Edna). He will also be sadly missed by stepdaughter Doreen (Vic), granddaughter Noreen, grandson Larry (Connie), granddaughter Debra (Terry), grandson Randy (Melinda), and grandson Trevor (Kim); great-grandson Stephen and great-granddaughters Jenna and Taylor; and Therese Lavallee. He will also be remembered by many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Cyril was born in Korytne Czechoslovakia and came to Canada in 1938. His greatest joy in life was his family. He enjoyed meeting with friends for coffee at Kildonan Place and going to Club Regent. He also enjoyed the company of his friends at East Park Lodge. A funeral mass will be held on Friday, March 7 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Bernadette Roman Catholic Church, 820 Cottonwood Rd., with a reception to follow. Do not grieve that I have died.
