SYLVIA ANDERSON
Date of Passing: Mar 02, 2008
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemorySYLVIA ANDERSON Suddenly and peacefully at her home Mom laid her head down for a long deserved sleep on March 2, 2008. Mom was born in Meleb, MB, and lived there until her first job at the Selkirk Mental Care Centre and wasn't long before love and children came into her life. Mom worked her whole life serving people and loved her career as a waitress. Mom just loved to meet and talk to new or regular customers always smiling and laughing. With retirement around the corner, she didn't seem right so at the age of 58 and until her untimely death did 24/7 home care for an elderly lady. Even though life had handed out many illnesses from a simple hangover to colon cancer, life was surely no bed of roses but family, friends and keeping busy caring for others made the struggle much more tolerant. Bingo was her hobby or fun thing to do, but yet her greatest joy was her grandchildren. There wasn't a spot in her home or purse where there wasn't a picture or news clipping of her grandsons. Even on the phone to her sister Jean their conversations were always about the grandchildren. Mom will never be forgotten by us her children, as for us we just need to look at each other and we will see the life and love of hers that she gave us and that's our keepsake of memories. Miss you mom and Baba. Mom will be remembered by her spouse Bill; children Keith and Kathy (Aubrey); grandsons Mike, Rob (Carrie), Rory and Carson; sisters Jean (Mike) Pidwinski and Carol (Stan) Feschuk; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins; lifelong friend Linda and special friend Dolly. Mom was predeceased by her parents Leo (Bobo) and Mary Stremeski and daughter-in-law Susan Anderson. A memorial service will be held on Friday, March 7, 2008, at 11:00 a.m. in the Gilbart Funeral Chapel, Selkirk. Mom don't be afraid as 19 years ago to the day, we lost Susan and now she'll be there to find you and get you settled in. Love you Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk in care of arrangements.
