JOAN REIMER Peacefully on March 4, 2008 at the Grace Hospice, Joan Reimer passed away at the age of 74. Joan will be lovingly remembered by her daughters, Jane (Ted) Eldridge, Nancy (Mark) Nielson and her sons, David (Elsa) Reimer and Michael Reimer. Joan will also be fondly remembered by her stepdaughter Leslie Frappier and her sister-in-law Lois Reimer. Joan's many nieces, nephews and grandchildren all too have many wonderful memories to carry with them. Joan lived her entire life in Winnipeg; a life with many highlights. She graduated from Fine Arts at the University of Manitoba and creatively assisted her husband Gordon Reimer (previously deceased) in the family business of Reimer Display. One of Joan's most rewarding accomplishments was helping to design and build the The Three Wisemen that still adorn the roof of The Great West Life Building every Christmas season. Joan was a loving and caring mother and grandmother who involved herself in a supportive manner with all her family. All of her summers since the 1960s found Joan enjoying her family and friends at Lester Beach. Joan too was an artist. She loved to paint and left many wonderful gifts of her art for her family to treasure. Joan was also actively involved in planning activities with many of her friends at Army, Navy and Air Force Veterans in Canada - Rockwood Unit #303. The family is very grateful to all the staff of the Grace Hospice for the wonderful care that Joan received. As per Joan's request there will be no formal funeral. Donations to the Salvation Army are welcome in remembrance of Joan.
