Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryLEONARD (LEN) JOSEPH STUPAK Leonard (Len) Joseph Stupak, beloved brother of Barbara, passed away peacefully at the Henderson General Hospital, Hamilton, with Barbara at his side, on Wednesday, March 5, 2008 after a courageous battle. Len was predeceased by his parents, Joseph (1993) and Olga (1987). Len was a loving and devoted son and brother and he will be very deeply missed by his sister, Barbara. He will also be sadly missed by his dear friend Donna Chappell, as well as numerous other relatives and friends. Len was born August 28, 1947 in Winnipeg where he was raised and educated. He received his Bachelor of Science, Mechanical Engineering in 1969 and Masters Degree in 1971 from the University of Manitoba. He received his MBA Degree from UBC in 1987. Len joined Imperial Oil in 1971 as a Mechanical Engineer at the Sarnia Refinery. He transferred to Engineering Design in Toronto in 1979 as a Mechanical Design Supervisor. He then transferred to IOCO in 1982 as Regional Project Manager, and then returned to Facilities Planning in Toronto in 1987. Len transferred to Nanticoke Refinery in 1991 where he held positions as Planning Supervisor and Chief Inspector. Len retired as Chief Inspector at Imperial Oil Nanticoke Refinery December 31, 2002. Len was a very well-rounded individual whose interests were varied and extensive. He enjoyed his retirement immensely and loved spending time working around the house utilizing his carpentry and home renovation skills. One of his main hobbies was spending time customizing his Corvette. Sincere appreciation is extended to Dr. Monica Grantham of the Oncology Ward E3 at Henderson General Hospital for her wonderful care of Len and also for her caring concern of Barbara. You were a Special Angel along our difficult journey. Also to Allan Pallett and Dr. Jason Wong. Thanks to the nursing staff, especially Deb and Doreen; and to Don Panton for his care and kindness. Also, to Dr. Raimond Wong and Dr. Calista Phillips of the Juravinski Cancer Centre. A special thank you to Fr. Ed Hampson of Corpus Christi Parish for his pastoral care. Finally, special thanks to Stanley and Veronica Janeczko for their help and being there for Barbara. Sincere appreciation is also extended to the Imperial Oil Nanticoke Refinery who informed the family that their flag will be lowered to half-mast on the day of Len's funeral. Len would consider this a great honor. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, March 11 at 10:00 a.m. at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, 1694 Upper James St., Hamilton with Fr. Ed Hampson officiating. Len will be laid to rest at Holy Ghost Cemetery, Winnipeg, at a later date. Pallbearers will be Stanley Janeczko, Bernard Sudol, Chester Sudol, Bill Mcdonell, Ron Kawchuk, and Paul Coughlin. Rest in Peace Dear Brother and Best Friend.
