DOROTHY ESTHER LITSTER (nee SIMPSON) On March 8, 2008 at the Extendicare Oakview Place, Dorothy passed away at the age of 90 years. Dorothy will be lovingly remembered by her son Peter (Anna Marie); daughter Nancy McDougall (Peter); grandchildren, Lisa Savinkoff (Bruce Hull), Terry Litster (Janis Taylor), Andrea Paramor (Ron), Tanya Dokuchie (Joe), and great-grandchildren, Kourtney, Terren, Alexandra, Leah, Roman, Chloe, Sarah and Jake, and sadly missed by family members, friends and neighbours. Dorothy was predeceased by her beloved husband Howard (1999). Dorothy was born in Welwood, Manitoba on December 15, 1917. She was raised and educated in Portage La Prairie. Dorothy was very proud to have worked at the Manitoba School in Portage La Prairie. Upon her marriage to Howard, Dorothy embarked on many interesting adventures across Canada during the Second World War following Howard's postings as a flight instructor for the R.A.F. After the war they lived in Brandon, Manitoba and eventually settled in Winnipeg, Manitoba in 1956. Dorothy was a loving wife, amazing mother and a wonderful grandmother. She had strength of character and a wonderful sense of humour. Dorothy's patience and understanding of children was her special gift. She taught us so much and we will be forever grateful. Dorothy's family would like to thank the staff of Oakview for their extraordinary compassion and kindness in their care of Dorothy. Cremation has taken place and a family graveside service will take place at a later date. Flowers are gratefully declined.
