GORDON EARLE ROBERTS Our hearts saddened on March 9, 2008 at Concordia Hospital when our dear husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, Gordon Earle Roberts, left us. Gordon is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 59 years, Mae. Left behind also are his loving children, Lloyd Roberts (Sophie), Karen Bodnar (Ray), Kathy Bonni (Barry), Kelly Roberts (Bruce Gallant), Heather Roberts of Portage La Prairie and Garnet Roberts. He is also survived by sister, Gladys Cannell, 11 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by son, Gordon; sister, Marg Clear and brothers, Colin and Alvin. Gordon started in the plumbing business when he was 17. He operated his own business for many years, and went over to the Provincial Government Parks Branch as a supervisor in the plumbing department. He retired from plumbing maintenance in 1994 from H.S.C. where, he often mentioned, that he worked with the best plumbers and guys. Dad often said, The plumber protects the health of the nation. Gordon's family would like to extend a special thank you to Concordia Hospital, N1 North for their care and compassion. Funeral service will be held 10:00 a.m. Thursday, March 13, 2008 at Green Acres Funeral Home, Hwy. No. 1 E. at Navin Rd. In lieu of flowers, donations in Gordon's memory may be made to the Kidney Foundation of Canada, 730 Taylor Ave., Winnipeg, R3M 2K8 or to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, 6 Donald St., Winnipeg, R3L 0K6.
