GERTRUDE OLIVE MCKAY (nee MONTROY) July 11, 1929 - March 8, 2008 It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our MOTHER, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, Gertrude McKay, who passed away on Saturday, March 8, 2008 at the Victoria General Hospital. She will be lovingly missed and remembered by her son Leonard (Carolyn), daughter Marion (Bruce Adams), son Mervin (Barbara), son William (Monica), son Alvin (Diane), daughter Merna (Donald Ditcham), daughter Leona, son Berten, son Barry, son Rodney (Deidre), daughter Bonnie (Sean MacLeod), 12 grand-children; six great-grandchildren, her sister, Beatrice Wark and numerous nieces and nephews. Gertrude was predeceased by her husband Clifford, father Ramsey Montroy, mother Lily Montroy, brothers Frederick, Oliver, Emil and sister Evelyn. Gertrude was an affectionate mother of 10, fun loving and a very generous person. The family would like to thank Father Patrick Morand of the St. Vital Parish for his help and guidance. Special thanks to the caring staff at the Victoria General Hospital and CancerCare Manitoba. Prayers will be held Thursday at 10:30 a.m., March 13, 2008 at St. Vital Parish Catholic Church followed by Mass of the Christian Burial. Father Patrick Morand as Celebrant. Interment will take place Thursday at the Mariapolis Catholic Cemetery at approximately 2:30 p.m. Reception to follow in the Mariapolis Community Hall.
