SHIRLEY OLIVE MILES On March 6, 2008, with family by her side, Shirley took her last breath, three days prior to her 84th birthday. Shirley was born on March 9, 1924 to William and Elizabeth Nickle, who predeceased her. She was the second of three children. Her brother, Millan (Eileen) predeceased her. She is survived by her sister, Betty-Ann (Raymond) Johnson. She was married to Gordon Miles and they shared over 50 years together until his death in 1998. Shirley is survived by her three boys (as she referred to them), Ted (Elaine), Terry (Charlotte) and Tim (Penny). She is also survived by five granddaughters, and seven great-grandchildren and numerous other family and friends. She worked at the Grain Exchange and Burns Meats. She and Gordon travelled extensively throughout Manitoba and Northwest Ontario as well as many different European and U.S. destinations. They loved the area near Vermillion Bay in particular. The last few years she enjoyed the friends and staff at the Kildonan House where she was residing. The family wishes to thank Frances Lavallee and all the caring staff at the Concordia Hospital, her special friend, Rosemarie and all the other special people whose company she enjoyed. Per Shirley's wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family service was held. Flowers gratefully declined and donations to the charity of one's choice is appreciated.
