PETER KURUS 1922-2008 With saddened hearts, we announce the sudden passing of Peter Kurus peacefully at his home on March 9, 2008. With his beloved wife, Katherine, by his side Peter drew his last breath and leapt into the hands of God. Peter was born in Ukraine and as a young man spent four years in Belgium prior to immigrating to Winnipeg at the age of 29. He worked at Genstar and Building Products for many years and retired when he was 64. Left to cherish his memory is his wife Katherine, daughter Olga Strashok, son Peter Jr, and grandsons Jamie Strashok and Kristopher Kurus. A service for Peter will take place on Friday, March 14, 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph's Ukrainian Catholic Church, Jefferson and Main Street. In lieu of flowers, donations in Peter's memory can be made to the Lung Association of Manitoba. Do not stand at my grave and weep, I am not there, I do not sleep.
