IRENE BUNSTON We are saddened to announce the passing of Irene Bunston at the Grace Hospital on Saturday, March 8, 2008. Irene's energy and spirit is now with her beloved husband Larry, who passed away in 2002. Here on earth, she will be missed by her children; Brian (Carol), Don (Sheila), Pat (Doug), and Gail (Dennis); her eight grandchildren, Grant (Nancy), Allan (Brenda), Jennifer (Kerry), Glenn, Neil (Jen), Greg, Colin, and Lori (Phil), and her 14 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her brothers Charles, John, and Les. Irene was born October 20, 1918 in Treherne, Manitoba. She and her husband Larry led an energetic, dynamic life. Short in stature but big in heart, Irene was a force of nature and was the rock in Larry's life. She doted on her grandchildren, and they spent many wonderful summers at her cottage. Her free spirit led her and her husband to many places in the world. Her tales of the markets in Tijuana, the beaches in San Diego (including dozens of tourist t-shirts every year for the grandchildren), and the amazing sights of London were told many, many times, yet she never lost her enthusiasm while regaling us with these tales. In their later years, she and Larry led an active social life, the center of which was the Westview Dance Club. After seeing the pair burn up the dance floor at family events, we can only imagine that they were the life of the party at their dance club. The family would like to thank the staff at the Grace Hospital, who helped make her final days peaceful. The memorial service will take place at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue, at 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 20, 2008.
