LUCIENNE BERNIER (CHENIER)
Born: Feb 17, 1926
Date of Passing: Mar 12, 2008
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryLUCIENNE BERNIER (nee CHENIER) February 17, 1926 March 12, 2008 Lucy passed away very peacefully with family at her side. Her four loving daughters, Sherron Kelly (Jim Kelly), Maureen Maguire (Barry Maguire), Colleen Callan, and Valerie Unwin (Patrick Falconer) grieve and celebrate the wonderful person that was our mother. Lucy was very proud of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and loved to hear about their accomplishments. Lucy came from a large and closely knit family included brothers, sisters, nephews, nieces and cousins that still come together for regular family lunches. Lucy had many friends that she had known since childhood and had an active social life that included movie matinees and long games of cards. While Lucy was known for her upbeat personality, she had had several tragedies to endure. The two most significant were the loss of her son, our brother, Patrick Unwin, in 1975 and our father, her beloved husband, Norman Unwin, in 1959. Lucy held Norman's memory close to her heart and as she believed in the resurrection through Jesus Christ, took great comfort and strength that she was going to her eternal reward and to be by his side. As death is a part of life, we, as a family were immensely helped through this process by all the medical staff at Concordia Hospital. In lieu of flowers we ask that you make a donation to the Concordia Foundation, 1095 Concordia Avenue, Winnipeg, R2K 3S8 or to the Salvation Army. Lucy will be cremated and have her ashes interred with our father Norman Unwin. Mass will be celebrated at St. Joseph the Worker Parish, 505 Brewster Street on Tuesday, March 18 at 11:00 a.m. Father Jan Spyrka Celebrant. Arrangements entrusted to:
