JOHN FRIESEN Suddenly and unexpectedly, on Thursday, March 13, 2008 at his residence, John Friesen died at the age of 81 years. He is survived by daughters, Hedy (Vern) Schroeder, Hilda Lecuyer, and son Werner (Doris); grandchildren, Graham, Niki, Mitchell, Melanie, Lori and Courtney. John was predeceased by his parents, three siblings and daughter Irma in 2005. John was born November 10, 1926 in Rosenort, Ukraine. He left Russia in 1945, moving to Germany and then in 1947 to Canada. John married Anna Wiens August 27, 1949 in British Columbia, and moved to Manitoba in 1951. He worked at Ogilvie Flour Mills and the Winnipeg School Board in maintenance, then with the Province of Manitoba until his retirement. John had a great love of music singing and playing. He thoroughly enjoyed the beauty of nature and travel. Dad was known as a practical joker and thoroughly enjoyed being with people. Funeral service will be held Tuesday, March 18, 2008 at 10:30 a.m. at the North Kildonan Mennonite Brethren Church, 1315 Gateway Road, with viewing prior to the service. Interment to follow in Green Acres Memorial Gardens. If friends desire, donations may be made in John's memory to a charity of your choice. 2146 Main Street 339-5555
