Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemorySIDNEY PATRICK GUNN Peacefully, at home with his family by his side, Sid passed away on Friday, March 14, 2008 after a very brief but courageous battle with cancer at the age of 55. Sid was predeceased by his parents Gladys and Don Gunn and his brother-in-law Phil Lanyon. He is lovingly remembered by his wife Shirley and his daughter Kim (Kenny) Bogacki and his precious granddaughter Katelyn. He is also survived by his siblings, Don (Sharon), Gerri (Bill), Diane (Ernie) and many nieces and nephews and his mother-in-law Myrtle Merritt. Sid had worked for C.P. Rail in the wheel shop for 34 years, retiring in 2007. Sid really enjoyed spending his summers at his cottage in Winnipeg Beach. Sid was also involved in bowling leagues and enjoyed spending time with his friends in the Model Railway Club. The family wishes to give an extra special thank you to Pastor Justin Bradbury and his wife Angie. We could not have gone through this without your support. You were with us every inch of this bumpy road, right from the time Sid was diagnosed with terminal cancer November 26, 2007 right until the very end. We also want to thank commissioner and Mrs. Nelson, Major and Mrs. L. Millar and the Wednesday night Bible Study at Southlands for their prayers for us. Special thanks also goes to all our friends who made soup for Sid and took time to visit Sid. Grateful appreciation is extended to Luz Allard the Palliative Care Co-ordinator and all the respite workers and the Palliative Care Nurses and Renee the volunteer who took Sid out. You all helped the family keep Sid at home until his passing. Funeral service will be held Tuesday, March 18, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at the Southlands Community Church (Salvation Army), 85 Keslar Road, with Pastor Justin Bradbury officiating.
