Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMICHAEL VINCENT After a brief battle with cancer, Michael Vincent passed away at the Poseidon Care Centre on March 12, 2008. His daughter and daughter-in-law were with him when he died. Michael was predeceased by his loving wife, Connie. He is survived by his children, Sally (Carla), Richard (Frances) and John (Carol); his grandchildren, Alexandra (Aaron), James (Ronagh), Charlotte (Patrick) Macchia, as well as Simon and Anna in England. He was known as Pipe , not only by his grandchildren, but by his great-grandchildren, Owen (Calgary) and McKinley (Winnipeg). He is also survived by his sister-in-law Gwen (Ken) James, his nephew Tony James and his niece, Liz (Bill) Stevens. Michael proudly served his country in the Second World War. He was posted in North Africa and Italy for the duration of the war. When Michael and Connie emigrated from England to Canada, he enjoyed going to the Legion and swapping stories with the other Second World War vets. After Mum died, Dad was lonely. He struggled to get through each day, eventually withdrawing from people and from the physical world outside his front door. He just wanted to be with Mum. The family would like to thank the staff of the 3rd floor, Poseidon Care Centre for the compassion they showed the family and the care they gave Dad. In accordance with Michael's request, cremation has taken place and no formal funeral will be held at this time. A service for family will be arranged for a future date. If you so wish, please make a donation to the Lung Association of Manitoba in Michael's name.
