HENDRIK (HENRY) WATERMULDER 1948 - 2008 Peacefully with family at his side, Henry passed away at the Boundary Trails Health Center on Friday, March 14, 2008 at the age of 60 years. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Valerie; his son Jameson; daughter Heidi and grandson Austin. He also leaves to mourn, his brother Stoffer; sister Barbara and numerous relatives both here and in the Netherlands. Henry was predeceased by his father Hendrikus in 1977 and his mother Fenna in 2005. Henry was born on January 23, 1948 in Groninger, Holland. He moved to Canada with his parents when he was four years old and grew up in the Westwood area. Henry trained with the RCMP but wanting to stay in Manitoba, he changed occupations and became a Meat-Cutter, starting at Canada Packers. In 1972 he married Valerie and together they raised Jameson and Heidi in Sanford. He was extremely proud of his children and their accomplishments. Sadly, his declining health did not allow Henry to fully enjoy his little grandson. Henry enjoyed working outside and spent many hours cutting grass. He particularly enjoyed photography and captured flowers, plants and wildlife with his camera. He made the best home-made soup that was never twice the same, loved playing cards with his good friends and had many good times on his travels. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 18, 2008 at Bardal Funeral Home, 843 Sherbrook Street. A private family burial will be held at Sanford Cemetery. The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to all the friends who visited Henry in the past months, the HomeCare staff, Dr. Woelk and the nursing staff at the Boundary Trails Health Center. If friends so desire, memorial contributions may be made to CancerCare Manitoba, 675 McDermot Avenue, Room ON1160, Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9 or www.cancercare.mb.ca.
