MABEL (MARSHA) MURPHY (nee HOE) Peacefully, Marsha passed away at the St. Boniface Hospital on March 15, 2008 following a lingering battle with lung cancer at the age of 82. Marsha was predeceased by her husband Arthur in 1995, her mother and father, sisters, Goldie, Jean, Mae and Helen, and brother Henry. Left to fondly remember her are her sister Bette and her brothers, Grant, James and William as well as several nieces and nephews. Born in the Melita / Manitou area on October 19, 1925, Marsha and nine siblings helped out at the family restaurant (which she stated never did not serve Chinese food). She met her husband Arthur in Winnipeg while she was taking a legal secretary's course. They first lived in Fort Garry but since 1977 lived at The Shelard in the Maples. She was an avid ten-pin bowler, loved to play bridge and enjoyed casino visits. Her pride and joy was her cat Bandit whom she lovingly called Bandy . Many thanks to the staff at Seven Oaks Hospital and St. Boniface Hospital for the love and care extended to her during her brief stay. A special thanks to Ted and Ats Odaguchi for their assistance for many years and their compassion. According to family wishes, there will be a small gathering of friends to celebrate her life. If friends so desire, donations may be made to CancerCare Manitoba, 675 McDermot Avenue, Room ON1160, Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9 or a charity of their choice. GLEN EDEN FUNERAL HOME 338-7111
