ROSA PALLONE Once, God sent us a very kind and special soul but now he called her back to join her husband Gregorio and her infant son Aldo in heaven. Although we will miss her so much, we are thankful for the many wonderful years we spent with her. Left to mourn her passing are her sons, Agostino (Virginia), Tony (Diane), Franco (Cristina), Mario (Carolina), Lorenzo and grandchildren, Greg and Janis, Silvana, Nancy and Brent, Tony Jr., Tony and Vanessa, Rosie and Leo, Rosalinda and Kevin, Karen and Jim and Greg and Genna, and great-grandchildren, Mathew, Nicholas, Douglas, Cara, Paulo, Nicholas and baby Luca. Rosa Pallone left her beloved home in Miglierina, Italy in 1967, a year after the demise of her husband and came to Canada to be with her sons. On March 16, 2008 she died peacefully in her sleep at the age of 101. Thanks to the dedicated care of her son Tony and Diane and the Palliative care team, her last days were made as comfortable as possible at home. Mamma created so many fancy crocheted works for all her children and for many of her numerous friends. We also enjoyed her Italian cooking for many years. She was gifted with a tremendously good mental state despite her failing health, her memory remained vivid and intact up to the last few days of her life, even remembering to order a birthday cake for one of her grandchildren's birthday five days before she died. You will remain in our hearts forever mamma and we will always cherish those precious days we spent with you. We would like to express our gratitude to all the home care givers who helped Mamma for their kindness, compassion and dedication. Pallbearers are: Greg Pallone, Tony Pallone Jr., Benny Ferraro, Leo Umphrey, Tony Pallone and Maurizio Pallone. Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, March 20, 2008 at 9:30 a.m. in Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church, 510 River Ave. with Fr. Sam Argenziano presiding. Viewing will take place beginning at 9:00 a.m. Interment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery.
