STANLEY BEDOSKY On March 13, 2008 at Seven Oaks Hospital, Stan Bedosky, beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, passed away at the age of 82. He is survived by his wife Ethel, his daughter Ellen (Tony), his two sons, Brent (Linda) and Jeffrey (Gail); five grandchildren, Kirk (Patti), Jason (Tess), Kristen (Justin), Adam (Crystal) and Brenna; and four great-grandchildren, Dale, Paige, Carson and Jorgia. He also leaves to mourn his passing his sister Joan (Frank) of Calgary. Born in 1925, Dad grew up in Winnipeg, attended high school at Isaac Newton and later the University of Manitoba. Dad left home to work at Fleet Aircraft in Fort Erie, Ontario before joining the Canadian Army with the Royal Winnipeg Rifles (Little Black Devils). Upon his honourable discharge in 1946, he worked with AlphAir (later Joy Manufacturing). During his work as a sheet metal mechanic, he became active with the United Steel Workers of America and the NDP. Dad eventually left Joy Manufacturing to enjoy a career with the federal government at Labour Canada as a Labour Affairs Officer. Dad retired from the government in 1990 after 26 years of faithful service. The family would like to thank all of the caring staff at Seven Oaks Hospital responsible for his care, as well as the paramedics from Winnipeg EMS for their prompt and professional attention. Services will be held on Thursday, March 20, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street, Winnipeg. Friends and relatives wanting to say a few words at the service are welcome to do so. Private interment will have already occurred. As an expression of sympathy, if friends so desire, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, the Arthritis Society (Manitoba Division), the Canadian Diabetes Association (Manitoba Region) or CancerCare Manitoba.
