WALTER DZIALIK On Tuesday, March 18, 2008, Walter passed away at the Beausejour District Hospital at the age of 82. Walter was the youngest child of Frank and Amelie. He leaves to cherish his memory, two sisters, Stella Bollenbach and Adeline Chihonik both of Winnipeg; also numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, one brother and five sisters. Walter left home at the tender age of 17 years, heading east picking up various jobs on the way. He landed in Toronto where he became a bus driver for 17 years. This led him to his own business in rust proofing, which he owned for years. In the 1980s he became grievously ill, almost losing his life - so he decided to pack up and spend his last years with his aged mother. He enjoyed the years he spent with his mom until her passing in 1989. Walter chose to stay in Beausejour working for Home Care, volunteering and helping others in any way possible. He also enjoyed the bush, loved to go by himself to pick blueberries, mushrooms or whatever he could find - he was forever coming home with something in his bucket. Walter loved to travel with his friend Josephine (Jo) and travelled several times to Hawaii, west to Vancouver, Victoria, Kelowna, east to Thunder Bay, south to Frazee, Minnesota, loving all his adventures. Walter would like to thank all the nurses at the Beausejour Hospital, Dr. Campbell for taking care of him for years and Father Mark for all his attentiveness. Cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, March 25 at 11:00 a.m. at Sobering Funeral Chapel, 1035 Park Avenue East, Beausejour with Rev. Fr. Mark Drozniak presiding. In lieu of flowers, if friends and family so desire, donations in Walter's memory may be made to CancerCare Manitoba, 675 McDermot Avenue, Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9.
