JEAN FONTAINE (nee DESSLER) Peacefully, on Wednesday, March 19, 2008 after a short battle with cancer, Jean passed away at the Riverview Health Centre at the age of 71. Jean was predeceased by her parents John and Georgina Dessler and brother Glen. She will be lovingly remembered by her beloved husband Vic, their children: Lisa (Marcel) Carriere, Laura (Craig) Schneider, Alan (Mandy) Fontaine, grandchildren, Vanessa and son Tyler, Morgan and Camryn Carriere, Brittney and Jamie Schneider, Teagan and McKenna Fontaine, brother Ian (Gayle) Dessler, and sister-in-law Marlene (Bill) Niemi, sisters-in-law, Bertha (Bert) Desrochers, Lucy Desrochers, Emma (Leon) Lemoine, Helen Fontaine and numerous nieces and nephews. For many years she enjoyed bowling, sewing and her passion was gardening. However her love and care for her family surpassed everything. In accordance with Jean's wishes, cremation has taken place and a celebration of her life will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, March 24, Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. Interment will follow at Glen Lawn Memorial Gardens. Special thanks to Dr. P. G. Mehta, and in particular to the neighbours for their loving care and support. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Jean to the CancerCare Manitoba.
