He was always willing to help the other residents and was known for his daily caring gestures. Dad was a strong, intelligent and loving person with a great sense of humour. He started to go to Grand Beach in his early 20s and had great fun with the Wahoo boys. Mom and Dad enjoyed summers at the cottage at Grand Beach, and family get-togethers. He enjoyed his several times a week outings with his children, and visits to his son George's machine shop. Cremation has taken place and a private family interment will be held at Brookside Cemetery. Flowers are gratefully declined. If friends so desire, donations may be made in Dad's memory to the Calvary Place Personal Care Home 1325 Erin Street, Winnipeg, Manitoba R3E 3R6. The family would like to extend their sincere thanks to the entire staff of Calvary Place with special thanks to the staff of 2 North for treating our Dad with great tenderness, dignity, and respect, especially during the last few weeks as his health declined. He was truly treated as family and he knew it. Though he was lonely after Mum's passing, he never felt alone while at Calvary Place. Please accept our heart felt thank-you.
