Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryWILKIE HENRY GRANT (HANK) January 22, 1922 March 20, 2008 Unexpectedly on Thursday March 20 at the Victoria General Hospital, Hank passed away with his wife Doris and his sons, Richard and Robin by his side. Hank was born in Minnedosa, MB to Doris and Wilkie and was the adored little brother of Phoebe and Bertha, which have all predeceased him. Hank served with the Canadian Air Force before starting his career as a switchman with the CNR in 1944. In 1964, he moved his family to California and worked at the Union Pacific Railway until he retired in 1986. Hank and Doris then returned to Winnipeg where he enjoyed being closer to his family and an active life that included, among others, league bowling, the occasional fishing trip and his crossword puzzles. This sudden loss is grieved by his closely knit family including his loving wife of 63 year, Doris, sons, Richard and Robin, daughter-in-law Connie and grandchildren, Courtney, Spencer (Brandie) and Jayda as well as Lori and her family. His sisters-in-law, Ruth and June together with numerous nieces, nephews and friends share this loss. All those who enjoyed his quick laugh, friendly nature and generosity will miss Hank deeply. He demonstrated his love and devotion to his family consistently in many ways both small and large. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, March 26 at 3:00 p.m. at the Voyage Funeral Home, 1531 Pembina Hwy. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Hank to the charity of your choice. Hank, we will miss you and forever cherish the memories of our time together.
