JOHN SEXTON 1928 2008 The family of John Sexton are sad to announce the passing of their father, John, on March 20, 2008. John was predeceased by his first wife Heather in 2003. He is lovingly remembered by his four sons, John (Debra), Murray (Heather), Peter (Marilyn), Gregory (Mathilda), all of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He will also be sadly missed by his siblings back in the U.K., friends in Canada and his wife of three years, Viola. Dad was born in London, England on November 4, 1928. He joined the Metropolitan Police, served with the Royal Navy for two and one half years and the Canadian Provost Corp. for three years. He immigrated to Canada in 1957, where he became a member of the Winnipeg Police Force for 27 years, retiring in 1984. Dad then pursued his interests in sailing and painting. The family wishes to thank Dr.J.Mohammed and the caring nursing staff of N3West at the Concordia Hospital, with special thanks to Donna Zimmerman LPN. As per Dad's wishes, cremation has taken place. A Memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, March 26, 2008 at the Transcona Funeral Chapel 1800 Day Street. Should friends so desire, donations may be made to the Concordia Hospital.
