Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARY TURKO (HRECHKA) Mary devoted mother, mother-in-law, granny and friend peacefully passed away March 19, 2008 at Red River Personal Care Home, Selkirk at the age of 96, with her family and good friend Edith at her side. She will be lovingly remembered by her daughter Pat (Hubick); son-in-law Ernie and granddaughter Kim; brother Paul and wife Mary; sisters-in-law, Hilda, Emily, Eunice and Kay; nieces and nephews and their families. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Mike (August 1984); parents, Peter and Tillie Harachka; brothers, Steve, Bill, Mikie, and Metro; sisters, Katherine (Bill), Eileen (Len), and Helen (Eddy); Mike's parents, Stefan and Catharina; brothers, John (Kay) and Nick (Marguerite). Our heartfelt thanks to the staff at Red River Personal Care Home, her second family and home, for their love, compassion and excellent care given not only to Mary but also to her family. Thanks also to Selkirk Ambulance Service; Selkirk and District General Hospital ER and Medicine Staff; Doctors Lindenschmidt, Demsas, Zoppa, Hussain, Montoedi; Father Peter Chorney; Pastor Ron Vert; Arlene Robinson; the staff of Gilbart's Funeral Home; her loyal friends who visited or phoned her regularly, especially Edith Kosack whose daily visits and phone calls over the past 24 years meant so much. Sincere thanks to our friends and relatives for all their support in these difficult times. At Mary's request, cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, March 26, at 10:00 a.m. in the Gilbart Funeral Chapel, 309 Eveline St, Selkirk with Father Peter Chorney officiating. Interment will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers a donation may be made in Mary's memory to the Palliative Care Unit, Selkirk and District General Hospital, Box 5000, Selkirk, MB R1A 2M2 or The Holy Eucharist Church, Box 56, Selkirk, MB R1A 2B1.
