ANGELA E. SHUMILAK Peacefully, on Friday, March 21, 2008, Angela was called home to be with her Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. She was predeceased by her parents, Stanley and Bernice, and by her sister Valerie Galay (Ron). She is survived by her brother Bernard (Shirley) and family Jeremy, Anna, Matthew, her best friend Gerda (and family), as well as numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members. Angela was born in Beausejour on October 2, 1955, and grew up in Ladywood on the family farm. She spent most of her career as a nurse at Health Sciences Emergency, where she made many life-long friends. It was there that she met her close friend and roommate Gerda of 27 years. She was a very kind person, had great compassion for others, and had a warm beaming smile for everyone. She had a great love of the outdoors, especially enjoying her daily walks with Prince, Lady and Sissie. Her family was of great importance to her. She enjoyed many wonderful times with her parents, sister and brother, and nieces and nephews. She was very close to Gerda's family as well, who embraced her as a sister, and spent many memorable occasions together with them. Especially important to her was her love for her Lord and Saviour. Her heart's desire was to live for Christ. Being a prayer warrior, much was accomplished for God's glory in the lives of her family, Christian brothers and sisters, and friends. She expressed her Christian love by many acts of kindness as she reached out to many people in need. Most of all, she held fast to her hope of eternal life. The family would like to thank the many people who prayed faithfully, for the many visits, phone calls and cards from family and friends and Gerda for providing loving care and comfort during Angela's last weeks at home. Special thanks to the Palliative Home Care team and the many medical staff at CancerCare Manitoba, Health Sciences and St. Boniface Hospitals for their excellent care and support. There will be a viewing on Friday, March 28 from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a devotional at 8:00 p.m. at Sobering Funeral Chapel, Beausejour. The funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 29 also at the Chapel, with Pastors Arno Fast, Bruce Adams and Jeremy Shumilak officiating. Interment will follow in the Beausejour Town Cemetery. Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing . (2 Timothy 4:9). In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Angela's memory to the Union Gospel Mission. SOBERING FUNERAL CHAPEL CREMATORIUM, Beausejour 268-3510 or MB Toll Free 1-877-776-2220
