SPARLING 1928 - 2008 It is with great sadness the family of Lorne Sparling announces his sudden passing on Monday, March 24, 2008 at the age of 80 years at the Convalescent Home of Winnipeg. Lorne was predeceased by his loving wife Kay Sparling in 1996, as well as several brothers and sisters. Left to cherish his memory are Dale and Cheri and their two sons Derek and Nick, as well as Karen and Mike. Lorne is also survived by his brothers Ron and Fred, sister Audrey, along with numerous nephews and nieces. Lorne was born and raised in Treherne, Manitoba. He moved to Winnipeg in the 1940s, where he met Kay. They settled in Charleswood to raise Dale and Karen. Lorne worked at Timothy Eaton Company until his retirement in 1988. He spent many hours fulfilling his hobbies of gardening, woodworking and fishing. After losing the love of his life Kay, Lorne sold the Charleswood home and moved to North Kildonan where he made many new friends and acquaintances. He spent many enjoyable hours playing cards with the ladies. His greatest joy were his grandsons. Funeral Service will be held to honour Lorne's life on Friday, March 28, 2008 at 12:30 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, located at 4000 Portage Avenue, Winnipeg, MB. The family would like to express heartfelt thanks to the staff and especially the 4th floor caregivers of The Convalescent Home of Winnipeg for their dedication and care of Lorne. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Convalescent Home of Winnipeg, 276 Hugo Street, Winnipeg, MB, R3M 2N6 in Lorne's memory. Mom and Dad are together again. CHAPEL LAWN 885-9715
