Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryZENNY RALPH GROUCH Zenny passed away after a lengthy illness at St. Boniface Hospital on March 22, 2008. He was born to Ralph and Eva Grouch at Fisher Branch, MB on January 18, 1953. His very early years were spent in Hodgsonville district. When only four years old he began living with his grandparents at Hodgson who raised him from then on. He also attended school there till age 13. Then he came back to the farm, completed his schooling at Hodgsonville and highschool at Fisher Branch. As a young boy he enjoyed tinkering with machines and learning how they work. He became very proficient in mechanics. In 1974 Zenny was faced with a serious challenge when he accidently lost his right eye. Inspite of this handicap he successfully farmed with his father and his uncle Paul later on. When time permitted Zenny fixed machines or welded for his neighbours. In spring he looked forward to his favourite sport of fishing, Zenny also enjoyed hunting with his friend. In 2002 Zenny built a new house of which he was quite proud. He was one of the first in the area to install geothermal heating system. In August of that same year he discovered his health was to change for the rest of his life. Surviving Zenny are his father Ralph; sister Donna (Ron); Marissa, aunt Lily Sewell and a number of cousins. Predeceased by his mother Eva in March 2008, Uncle Frank, Uncle Paul and his grandparents Peter and Tekla Grouch. Special thanks to Klimchuk's who were there for Zenny through all those difficult years. Many thanks to all who took time to visit him in St. Boniface Hospital during the last four months. Thanks to the Dialysis Unit at Seven Oaks Hospital. Heartfelt thank you to all doctors and nurses for their compassionate care at St. Boniface Hospital on 5th floor, section L. At Zenny's request cremation has taken place and no formal service will be held. Instead an informal lunch to celebrate Zenny's life will be held March 29, 2008 at 12:00 p.m. at the Metis Hall at Hodgson, MB.
