JEAN SLOBODIAN Surrounded by the love of her family Mom passed into her beautiful new life on Easter Monday, March 24. Mom was born in Transcona on July 13, 1922. She was very proud of her Ukrainian and Polish heritage. She was a wonderful Mom and friend to her daughters Karen, Wendy and Chris and shared many happy times with them. Mom relied on her faith in the good Lord to sustain her after the passing of her husband Alex, son-in-law John and dear daughter Wendy. She was the the guiding force in the lives of her nine grandchildren: Chris, Nick, Alex, Matthew, Gillian, Stephanie, Laura, Erin and Brenna. Her sons-in-law Terry and Joe will remember her as a fun-loving mother-in-law. She also adored the family pets: Skye, Tasha, Chipper and Timmy. Mom enjoyed going to her club meetings at Holy Eucharist Church with her faithful friend Virginia. River Park Gardens provided Mom with many wonderful activities. Getting to know the compassionate staff was a meaningful part of Mom's days. We wish to thank Father Phil Daley, Rev. John Melnyk, and Father Ray Baudry for anointing Mom and helping her to pass into God's kingdom. Celebration of Mom's life will be on Friday, March 28 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Timothy's Parish, 135 John Forsyth Avenue. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
