LORRAINE BENOIT Peacefully on Saturday, March 22, 2008, Lorraine Benoit passed away at the age of 91 years at the Taché Centre. Lorraine was predeceased by her father Dr. Leon Benoit in 1949, her mother Myrtella (nee Boucher) in 1969 and her one and only sister Jacqueline in 1991. Lorraine graduated from St. Mary's Academy and spent a few years traveling with her parents. She started working for The Bay Retail Store in the Credit Department for 27 years. She later worked for Manitoba Telephone and retired in 1982. Lorraine was a member of St. Mary's Cathedral and sang in the choir for many years. She was very fond of music and played the piano beautifully. Lorraine's one big passion was for the opera and the symphony. As a young girl, the family spent their summers at West Hawk Lake. Lorraine had many stories to tell. In her retirement years, she traveled to Hawaii, Florida and took many cruises to numerous islands. Many thanks to the wonderful staff at the Taché Centre where she made her home for the past 10 years. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, March 28 at the Desjardins Funeral Chapel, 357 DesMeurons Street. Interment to follow at the St. Boniface Cemetery. Rest in Peace, Babe!
