PETER DYKUN Peacefully, on March 26, 2008, Peter Dykun passed away at the Vita Personal Care Home at the age of 86 years. He was predeceased by his wife, Sophie, parents Michael and Titania Dykun, sisters, Evelyn, Stella, and one brother John, son-in-law Alex Kowalenko and one grandson Kevin Podolsky. Left to cherish his memory are his sons, Oreast (Bea), Larry, one daughter Jeanette (Harry), grandchildren, Loretta, Wes, (Debbie), Cindy (Al), Brian (Cheryl), Danny, Sandy, great-grandchildren, Kelsey, Jenna, Michael, Erin, Kage, Zane and Ashton. Peter will also be missed by his brother Maurice (Phyllis), sisters, Nancy (Nestor), Olga and numerous nieces and nephews. Peter was born in Tolstoi, Manitoba on July 12, 1921 and during his school years attended the Lord Roberts School. He met and married his wife Sophie and briefly lived in Winnipeg before moving to the farm in Gardenton, Manitoba. This is where he farmed from 1945 until 1975. Although farming was his main occupation he also worked various other jobs such as carpentry, mechanics, school bus driver, transfer truck driver, school board trustee, and many other endeavors. We, the family, wish to thank the staff at the Vita Personal Care Home and the Vita Hospital for their support and thoughtfulness throughout the stay of both Mom and Dad over the last few years. A Prayer Service will take place on Sunday, March 30, 2008, 6:30 p.m. at Vita Funeral Homes Vita Chapel , Vita, Manitoba. Peter's funeral service will take place on Monday, March 31, 2008 at 10:30 a.m. at Vita Funeral Homes Vita Chapel , Vita, Manitoba.
