GILBERT EUGENE LESY (1908 - 2008) With family at his side Gilbert Lesy passed away at Delwynda Personal Care Home, Deloraine, Manitoba on Sunday, March 16, 2008 at the age of 100. Gilbert leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife of 72 years, Angele Mary; daughter Lorraine Greasley (Dennis), son Lloyd (Sharon), nine grandchildren, Mark, Kimberly (Steve), Patrick (Sherry), Bradley (Christine), Kelly (Pierre), Daryn (Tara), Sean (Roanne), Michelle (Dean), Renee (Robert), 20 great-grandchildren, sister/brother-in-law Henriette (Albert) Rommelaere and many nieces and nephews. Gilbert was born February 21, 1908. He and Angele farmed in the Mountainside district. In his younger years he enjoyed horses, hunting, playing cards and playing/teasing his sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and grandchildren. He retired to Deloraine in 1963 and resided with his wife in the Delwynda Court Personal Care Home since April 2000. Our family sincerely appreciate and thank the doctors, nurses and staff at the Personal Care Home for the wonderful and compassionate care he received while resident there. We wish to thank the family and friends who took the time to visit dad during his entire stay in the Care Home. Prayers were said 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 19, 2008 at St. Antoninus Catholic Church, Deloraine, Manitoba. Funeral Mass was held Thursday, March 20, 2008, 10:00 a.m. at St. Antoninus Catholic Church, the Rev. Fr. Eric Giddins officiating. Interment followed at the Deloraine Catholic Cemetery. Smith Funeral Home, entrusted with arrangements.
