NORA LEASK Peacefully on March 20, 2008 Nora Leask passed away at the Deer Lodge Centre in Winnipeg at 91 years of age. Nora leaves to cherish her memory her one son Neill (Linda), granddaughters Shari (Rich), their son (great-grandson) Carter of Winnipeg and Stacey (Luke) of San Francisco, California, as well as one niece Irene Rowland of Winnipeg. She was predeceased by her husband Bill Leask and her two brothers Austin and Bill Taylor. Having resided in the Weston area for most of her 91 years, Nora was a founding member of the Weston Community Centre. She was an avid curler and a life-time member of the Victoria Curling Club. Nora was most fond of her family and friends and enjoyed spending time at her cottage in LacLu, Ontario. Nora was a kind, caring and sensitive woman who endeared the hearts of many and will be sadly missed by those who knew her. A special thank you goes to the staff of Deer Lodge Centre, 2nd Floor for their care and compassion. Thank you as well to Teddy Zajak for being such a special friend. As per her wishes, cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will be held Tuesday, April 1 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Nor-Villa Hotel, 1763 Henderson Hwy. A private family interment will take place at Brookside Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations in Nora's memory to the Winnipeg Humane Society or the MS Society would be gratefully appreciated.
