VICTOR SEMANOWICH
Born: Apr 10, 1930
Date of Passing: Mar 20, 2008
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryVICTOR SEMANOWICH April 10, 1930 - March 20, 2008 It is with great sorrow and sadness we announce the passing of Vic. After a lengthy battle with Parkinson's, Dad is at peace. Vic was predeceased by his father, Nick, and his mother, Jessie. Left to cherish his memory are: his wife Mary; his son Eugene (Sharon); daughters, Kathleen (Wilf), Susan (Rick), Michele; grandchildren, Kirsten, Nicholas (Randi), Taylor, Teagan, and great-granddaughter Mercedes. He is also survived by his sister Irene (Bill) Campbell; his sisters-in-law, Olga (Myron) Shatulsky, Lucy Nykolyshyn, and numerous nieces and nephews. Dad was born in Winnipeg, and lived most of his life in Winnipeg. He was employed as an aircraft engineer with the Department of Transport Canada until his retirement at age 60. Dad married his high school sweetheart, and passed away just short of their 54th Wedding Anniversary. Dad was a man of many interests and hobbies. He enjoyed a variety of sports, and was an avid curler and golfer. He continued to curl and golf as long as his health allowed him. Dad was a private man, who held his heart close to his chest. The arrival of his grandchildren brought out a side of him that he kept hidden for many years. If we thought being a grandparent mellowed dad, the arrival of his first great-granddaughter was just what he needed in the last difficult years of his life. She became the crowning jewel on his crown of accomplishments. Dad was a member of the Association of United Ukrainian Canadians, and volunteered at the Ukraine Lviv Pavilion for many years, in a variety of capacities. In honour of his wishes, dad has been cremated and no service will be held. A private family gathering will be held at a later date. Flowers are gratefully declined, donations may be made in his name to the Ukrainian Labour Temple Foundation, 591 Pritchard Avenue, Winnipeg, MB R2W 2K4. Dad, may your drives fly straight, your putts be true, and may your score never break par. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 586-8044
