ELLEN DUNNING On Thursday, March 27, 2008 at the Deer Lodge Center, Winnipeg, Ellen Dunning, aged 91 years passed away. She was predeceased by her son Cecil; daughter-in-law Kristine Dunning; son-in-law Edward Single; mother and father John and Jane Bear; brothers, Sam (Elsie), Stanley, Edward, Albert, Alec (Gertie), and Jack (Rosie) and sister Elsie (Merrill). She is survived by her husband of 67 years Norman; children, Iris, Graham (Mary-ann), Sharon (Bernard), Harris, Heather (Herald), Sherman, Wendy (Ozzie), Gloria (Reggie), and Lyla (Jack); 15 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Ellen was born in St. Peters, Manitoba in 1916 and married Norman Dunning in 1940. She worked at Denever Hospital and Selkirk Mental Hospital. She retired from the Fresh Water Fish Marketing Board at 65 years of age. Her hobbies were knitting and sewing for her family. After she retired she volunteered at the House of Economy, and at tea functions. She liked to travel to BC and Alberta to visit her daughters and son. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, April 2, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. in the Springs Church on Eveline Street in Selkirk with viewing being held one hour prior to. The family would like to thank the doctors and nursing staff of Deer Lodge Center, Tower 6 for their loving care of our mother. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk in care of arrangements.
