Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARGARET FROESE (nee KONRAD) 1910 - 2008 Margaret Froese, our beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, went home to be with her Lord, Saturday, March 29, 2008, at the age of 98. Margaret was born in Alexanderkrone, Ukraine, in the loving Konrad home, the second youngest of 10 children. Her father died tragically during the chaos of the Russian Revolution when she was eight years old. In 1926 her family immigrated and settled on a farm near Manitou. She married Peter Froese in 1931. They were sweethearts for 76 years and were blessed with seven children, 19 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren. They farmed at Newton from 1938 to 1973 and then retired to Winnipeg. Her deep faith and trust in God was evident in all she did. Prayer, Bible study, church, singing, family and friends were the pillars of her life. She loved to entertain guests around their dining room table decorated with flowers from her garden. She did beautiful quilting, sewing, baking and loved to travel with Dad. Margaret, our mother, was predeceased by her husband, our father, Peter Froese in September 2007; son Peter; granddaughter Charlotte; and all of her brothers and sisters. She is survived by her children and their spouses: John and Irene, Katie and Paul Wiebe, Dave and Rose, George and Kae, Margaret and Jake Peters, daughter-in-law Louise Froese, Alfred and Ruth; as well as her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Our heartfelt thanks to the Donwood Staff on 2North for their compassionate, tender care of our mother and also their kindness to us. Viewing will be held on Thursday, April 3 at 7:00 p.m. at Donwood Manor, 171 Donwood Drive. Funeral service will be held on Friday, April 4 at 10:30 a.m. at Portage Avenue Church, 1420 Portage Avenue.
