NORMAN A. STERN 1949 - 2008 It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Norman Stern due to heart failure. Norman was predeceased by his father Morris and is survived by his mother Bella, his wife Sharon, children Morris, Joseph and Melanie (Tony), as well as his brother Lyle (Jennie), niece Maran, nephew Gabriel, sister-in-law Gina (Darren), niece Concetta, brother-in-law Wayne, nieces Maxx and Griffin. Shortly after graduating as a Chartered Accountant from the University of Manitoba he started his career at Western Glove Works, becoming in 1981 a partner and owner with his cousin Ron Stern, Bob Silver and Michael Silver. Norman was an integral part of the company's growth and continuing success. At Western Glove the question about a new idea, or process is still, What would Norman say? . Norman will be deeply missed by all his friends and associates. His warm smile, the twinkle in his eye, quick wit and great understanding will always be remembered. Norman was never one to care too much about material possessions, or his own problems but was always there for yours. His life was about his family and his friends. Donations in his name may be made to a special fund at the Jewish Foundation of Manitoba.
