Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryEDGAR VINCENT REYNOLDS August 13, 1923 March 29, 2008 Peacefully and surrounded by his family, Ed Reynolds passed away on Saturday, March 29, 2008 at the Golden West Centennial Lodge at the age of 84. Son of Ada Lucy Barrett Stevens, Ed was predeceased by wife Margaret (Peggy) on November 2, 2000. He is survived by sons, Ed (Kathy) and Chris (Kathy); grandchildren, Jennifer (Greg), Lauren (Rob), Ashley (Bryan), Darren, and Tyler; great-grandchildren, Rowan and Aiden; close friend Evelyn Dunsby; and several extended family members in England and Australia. Ed was born in Lewisham, Kent, England and joined the Royal British Navy in the Second World War, then the Royal British Marines. After the war, he was employed by the Post Office Telephone in England. He married his love Margaret Grace Bargent on November 18, 1950 in Portsmouth, England. It was there they had two sons, Ed and Chris before emigrating to Canada in 1957. Once in Winnipeg, he worked for Winnipeg Hydro, retiring in 1988 after 31 years. Ed was a member of the St. James Anglican Church for nearly 50 years, serving on Vestry and singing in the choir; a member of the Winnipeg Male Chorus; and a long time member of the St. James Horticultural Society. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held on Monday, April 7 at 3:00 p.m. at St. James Anglican Church, 195 Collegiate St. with a reception to follow in the church hall. The family would like to thank the wonderful and caring staff at Riverview Health Centre (3 West), Misericordia Interim Care (Wolseley 3 and Cornish 5), and Golden West Centennial Lodge (5th floor); and to Archdeacon Fletcher Stewart for all his care and support.
