Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJOSEPH BORYS Peacefully, after a brief illness on Wednesday, April 2, 2008, at St. Boniface Hospital, Joseph Borys, aged 87 years, of Winnipeg. Joseph was born in Ostrow, Poland, November 23, 1920. He immigrated to Canada in 1947 and settled in Winnipeg. Joseph was employed with the Dominion Bridge Co. and retired in 1985. Joseph was a member of St. Andrew's Ukrainian Catholic Church and for many years has been a member of Sts. Vladimir and Olga Cathedral. Joseph valued a good education and an honest day's work. He encouraged his children to maintain their Ukrainian heritage. He loved working in his garden and responded to anyone who asked for his help. Joseph's grandchildren were a special joy to him. Joseph is survived by his children, Irene Ellis (Toronto), Diana Borys (Winnipeg), Joseph A. Borys (Port Elgin, ON), Myron (Linda) Borys with their two children Stephanie and Christina (Edmonton), Mary (Trevor) Markesteyn and their three children Connor, Rowan and Liam (Winnipeg). He also leaves four sisters, Mary Zadorozny (Winnipeg), Olena Dnako, Osypa Vanjo and Stanislava Felyushova in Ukraine. He was predeceased by his wife Stephanie (1994), sister Nellie Kawalec and brothers Yaroslaw and Bronislaw. Prayers will be sung 8:00 p.m., Monday, April 7 at the Metropolitan Cathedral of Sts. Vladimir and Olga, 115 McGregor St. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated 9:30 a.m., Tuesday, April 8, also at the cathedral, with Rt. Rev. Msgr. Mitrat M. Buyachok officiating. Interment will follow in Holy Family Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Sts. Vladimir and Olga Cathedral Renovation Fund. Special thanks to Dr. P.
