MICHAEL DMYTRO KULYK Peacefully on April 17, 2008, Michael Dmytro Kulyk passed away at the Health Sciences Centre at the age of 64. Michael was born in Winnipeg on September 18, 1943. He attended St. John's High School, University of Winnipeg, University of Manitoba, and British Columbia Institute of Technology. Following his studies, Michael entered the Federal public service as an Environmental Health Officer for 29 years. He obtained the designations of Certified Pubic Health Inspector, Occupational Health and Safety Technologist, Registered Occupational Hygiene Technologist, and other professional certifications. Michael was also a member of the Knights of Columbus, Holy Family Ukrainian Catholic Church Council. Michael's greatest joy was spending time with his family. He took a keen interest in the lives of his brother's and sister's families, having great pride in their life achievements. Michael could always be counted on for his quick wit, great conversation and voluminous photos he was truly the keeper of family memories. In his free time Michael enjoyed traveling, walking, gardening, reading and ballroom dancing, especially the polka. He leaves to cherish his memory, two brothers, Joseph (Gail), their children, Courtney and Nicholas; Peter, his children, Corrine and Craig; sister-in-law Jan, her children, Debbie, Dawn and Lisa and niece Marlene. He was predeceased by his parents, Anna and Dmytro ; brother, John; sister, Helen; in-laws Lynn and Clarence and nephew Martin. The family wishes to thank the doctors, nurses, and staff at the Health Sciences Centre, Ward D6 and MICU for their care and attention during Michael's illness. A service in Michael's memory will be held on Wednesday, April 23, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at Korban Funeral Chapel, 907 Main Street. A private graveside service will be on Thursday, April 24, 2008 at All Saints Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Michael's memory to CancerCare Manitoba. The family wishes to thank the doctors, nurses, and staff at the Health Sciences Centre, Ward D6 and MICU for their care and attention during Michael's illness.
